Before you get to songs by the many stars that contributed to the Body of War: Songs that Inspired an Iraq War Veteran soundtrack, you hear “Hero’s Song” by Brendan James. His ode to the soldiers in Iraq was handpicked by the film’s subject and curator, Tomas Young, as the lead track on the double disc, preceding the likes of Bruce Springsteen, John Lennon, Neil Young, Tori Amos, Ben Harper, Serj Tankian, and Eddie Vedder.
