The title of Straylight Run’s first single off of The Needles The Space, “Soon We’ll Be Living In The Future,” immediately reminded me of Jonathan Coulton’s the-geeks-shall-inherit-the-earth anthem “The Future Soon.” That’s about as much as they have in common, as the Straylight Run song is a serious introspective piece about aging and end-of-life issues, with nary a robot army in sight.
