Check out this clip of The Automatic Automatic performing “Monster” at SXSW earlier this year. The video was originally shot for Direct TV. I’ve never heard or seen the band before, so I was rather surprised to watch/hear the beautiful vocals of the lead singer completely overwhelmed by the drugged or drunken shouting of the keyboard player. Usually that sort of thing is reserved for bands that suck. The Automatic Automatic would probably be better served by not letting the keyboard player anywhere near a microphone.
