Last November, The Decemberists asked fans to save their “O’ Valencia” video by fixing the green screen animation shots. Stephen Colbert found out, took offense, and launched an anti-Decemberists crusade which concluded with a shred-off. In the end, it was Kurt Nishimura of the Art Institute of Portland who won the contest with his re-imagined version of the video.
